FSA-Ready by Design

This was the first EPC project in Türkiye where the owner required FSA1–2 by an international assessor, Exida, at this scale and at this stage of design. We led functional safety management of the complete engineering package. ExSILentia was deployed as a shared multidisciplinary platform, so SRS development started at HAZOP. Each SIF then progressed through LOPA, Process SRS, SIL verification and Design SRS as a single traceable record.

Lifecycle requirements were merged into the design teams' own working procedures rather than run as a parallel compliance exercise, and internal pre-assessments preceded the external review. Interface issues were closed through controlled clarification and cross-document review, covering existing facilities, vendor packages, shared logic solvers and scope boundaries. Despite a tight project schedule, the assessment closed with minor findings only and no major rework.
